My Artistic Journey

My relationship with art began back in elementary school, where I found myself drawn to colors, shapes, and the simple joy of creating something from nothing. What started as childhood fascination with crayons and construction paper evolved into a lifelong passion that would define much of who I am.

During my high school years, I formalized my artistic education by enrolling in art classes, where I was first introduced to proper painting techniques, color theory, and art history. These foundational years proved pivotal, as they provided me with the technical skills and artistic vocabulary that would serve as the bedrock for my future work.

After graduating high school, I continued painting as a form of personal entertainment and creative expression. What began as a hobby became a consistent practice, with me dedicating regular time to my craft over the decades. My approach to art has always been rooted in genuine enjoyment rather than commercial ambition, allowing me to explore various styles, subjects, and techniques at my own pace.

My Current Practice

Now at 53, I've accumulated over three decades of painting experience. My work reflects the steady hand of someone who has spent countless hours with brush and canvas, developing an intuitive understanding of my medium. Living here in Aurora, Colorado, I draw inspiration from both the urban landscape around me and the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountain region.

My artistic practice serves as both creative outlet and personal sanctuary, maintaining the same sense of wonder and experimentation that first captured my imagination in those early grade school years. My dedication to art as entertainment has kept my work fresh and authentic, unmarred by external pressures or expectations.

My Philosophy

For me, painting remains what it has always been: a source of joy, discovery, and personal expression. My decades-long commitment to the craft speaks to art's enduring power to enrich and sustain the human spirit.
